Harriet tries to help Dawn get back on track

There’s a new project for vicar Harriet Finch, and it doesn’t involve the choir. Having discovered that prostitute Dawn is the daughter of a drug dealer called Will, whom she helped convict, Harriet blames herself for how Dawn’s life has turned out and wants to help.

After all, she practically raised Dawn as her own child, and when Will was sent to prison, she left.

Knowing that Dawn misses her son – Lucas, who is in care – Harriet arranges an appointment with social services. She also encourages her to kick her heroin addiction and get a job. But Dawn’s attempt at a fresh start suffers a knockback when she is given some devastating news.

Says Olivia Bromley, who plays Dawn: ‘There’s going to be a deep dive into understanding what has brought this young woman to a place where she has been trapped in a cycle of addiction and relying on violent men. Maybe she’ll get out of it with the right help and support, but I think she’ll continue to make mistakes and wreak havoc.’

Support: Harriet wants to be there for Dawn
