the experiment continues with a visit to 1940, where a revolution is happening. A secondary education is now open to all, with 25 per cent of children going to grammar school. But for many pupils – including the 15 modern-day ones taking part in this show – the strict teaching style is a shock. There’s also sex education 1950s style, a cycling proficiency lesson and celebrations as Queen Elizabeth II is crowned.
