How would you describe your characters? ella: Sister Frances is innocent and clumsy, but she has a huge need to help people.
Fenella: Sister Hilda has previously been a nurse, and was a member of the
Women’s auxiliary air Force in the war. She’s jolly and enthusiastic – she’s a ‘jump in’ kind of person. What has it been like joining the cast?
Fenella: I’m over the moon. It’s a lovely show and the cast have been wonderful. It’s also brilliant because I had a great aunt who was a nun and was called Sister mary Hilda! ella: and my confirmation name, because I was raised Catholic, was
Saint Frances! For me this is just crazy and amazing so early in my career. any challenges? Fenella: Yes – the deafness from wearing the wimple!
