1 The Trial of Christine Keeler BBC1

Here is the first official snap of rising star Sophie Cookson as party girl Christine

Keeler in this true-life drama, which promises to take a fresh look at the shocking chain of events in the 1960s that came to be known as the ‘Profumo affair’.

The six-part series, written by BAFTA award-winning Amanda Coe (Room at the Top, Apple Tree Yard), sees James Norton (Grantchester, Happy Valley) play osteopath to the stars Stephen Ward, who introduces showgirl and model Christine to Tory MP and Secretary of State for War John Profumo (The Last Post’s Ben Miles).

The story explores the fallout from Profumo and Christine’s secret affair, which eventually brings down the Conservative government.

It’s set to hit our screens soon…
