Mel’s feud with Sharon ends in a high-speed car chase…

Mel twigs what Sharon is up to, and is determined to get to Phil first

Seventeen years after Steve Owen and Phil Mitchell had that memorable car chase, their respective other halves,

Mel and Sharon, get in on the act. Back in 2002, Steve met his maker when his vehicle crashed and exploded. Could his vengeful widow go the same way?

The wacky race is the climax to the pair’s ongoing feud, in which Mel has been blackmailing pregnant ma Mitchell over her big secret – that Keanu is her baby-father. Shazbang has so far stumped up a Portuguese villa and sold her share of the E20 to buy Mel’s silence, but it could all be in vain. Her arch-enemy aims to spill the beans at a birthday party for Sharon and Louise.

As Mel finalises her grand plan, Sharon gets a call from Phil that leaves her reeling. Mel has told him about the club sale, and he’s heading back to Walford.

‘Sharon fears that as soon as Phil is back, Mel will shoot her mouth off,’ reveals our Walford mole. ‘She puts Keanu in the picture and demands he take Louise away from the Square. Keanu agrees, but Louise is determined not to miss the party.’

Lou’s in her element at the bash, but Sharon can sense doom, and threatens to expose Mel’s own secret – that she harboured son Hunter when he was on the run. Mel couldn’t care less, though, and tells Lisa she’s going to tell Phil the truth about ‘his’ baby.

Feeling the heat, Shazza sneaks out to meet Phil at the airport…

‘She wants to keep him and Mel apart,’ adds our mole. ‘But Mel twigs what she’s up to, and is determined to get to Phil first.’

Shazza panics as she’s pulled over by the police, but she manages to get rid of them. Mel, meanwhile, is in hot pursuit, and is so determined to expose her enemy’s secret that she calls Billy and demands he put the E20’s microphone to the club phone, so she can make an ‘important announcement’.

Will she tell the partygoers who really got Sharon up the duff ? And, as she and Sharon race to reach Phil, could someone hit a dead end?
