Arthur bullies Archie into fleeing the village – but Jimmy gets the blame

Who’d have thought that Emmerdale’s latest villain would be Arthur Thomas? But Laurel’s angel-faced son has been hurting little Archie for weeks, jealous of the time his mum is devoting to him and Jai. And he has blamed poor Jimmy in the process.

As Omen child Arthur tells the vulnerable lad that everyone would be better off if he left, Archie runs away, and a panicked Jai assumes Jimmy is responsible.

Arthur strikes out as the villagers get together for a panto rehearsal, organised by Bob.

‘Arthur manipulates Archie away from the adults, and he and Angelica are really nasty to him, prompting Archie to hit Angelica,’ says Chris Bisson, who plays Jai.

‘Jimmy grabs Archie and pulls him away, and Jai sees it. Jimmy is a big fella, and Archie looks terrified. From Jai’s perspective, Archie is scared of Jimmy.’

As Jai rails at Jimmy, Arthur fears he’ll be found out, and tells a scared Archie he should clear off. The following morning, as Manpreet goes into Archie’s room to wake him for school, there’s no sign of the young lad.

Jai alerts the police, and

Jimmy is taken to the station for questioning. Meanwhile, Laurel later receives a call from the school and is told that Arthur has gone missing, too. A terrified Jai soon declares war on ‘guilty’ Jimmy, but he has more to worry about when social services get in touch.

Chris adds: ‘Jai’s furious, and sees that he could be vulnerable to intervention.’

Will Jai tell the authorities about Jimmy ‘causing’ Archie’s bruises? And if so, could Jimmy be wrongly charged with child abuse?

It’s a wonder that Whitney gives any man the time of day, given her horrendous experiences with the opposite sex. ‘Pond life’ would be a flattering term to describe those who have used and abused her over the years, and when she finally found a good ’un in Callum, it turned out he was gay.

Following her shambles of a wedding with her aforementioned ex, the brunette has hooked up with legal eagle Leo, and thinks he’s quite the catch when he books a hotel break for her birthday this week. But the handsome hotshot is in fact the son of Tony King, the paedophile stepdad who groomed her when she was a teen. And, when Tiffany learns the horrifying truth, her oblivious sister is getting it on with her new ‘squeeze’ in their hotel room.

Leo has survived several close shaves, but Gray is suspicious of his assistant when he earlier overhears Whitney telling Ruby about a case he’s working on. Meanwhile, Leo is panicked when his mum, Michaela (Smack the Pony star Fiona Allen), pitches up, wanting to know why he’s in Walford.

‘Leo gives her a cover story, but Michaela isn’t convinced, and gives him some home truths about Tony, whom Leo wrongly believes died an innocent man,’ reveals our Walford mole.

‘When Michaela then sees Whitney’s name on his phone, she susses what he’s up to, and Leo fears she’ll expose his revenge plan.’

Callum, who has long been wary of Whit’s new man, shares his concerns with Jay, who thinks he’s just jealous. Tiffany gives him the same response when he talks to her. But, left to stew on the matter, she starts to have niggles and calls up mum Bianca for advice.

‘Tiffany is horrified when Bianca reveals Leo’s true identity,’ adds our insider.

Over at the hotel, Whit’s buzzing about her birthday ‘treat’, and has no idea that Leo has an ulterior motive for the surprise trip.

Tiffany calls her up to warn her, but Leo secretly rejects the call. A terrified

Tiff fills in Callum, and the pair team up on a mission to get Whitney to safety.

Can they reach her in time?
