Gordon, Gino and Fred Christmas Road Trip: Three Unwise Men MONDAY 23 DECEMBER / ITV / 9PM

Gino D’acampo could rival Santa for seasonal cheer! ‘When it comes to Christmas, no one does it better than the Italians,’ smiles the chef,

43, who over the festive season can be seen in ITV’S Gino’s Italian Express (Tue 2 Jan, 8.30pm) and Gordon, Gino and Fred Christmas Road Trip: Three Unwise Men, his latest foodie adventure with Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieix.

Here, Gino tells TV Times more...

You’re in Morocco with Gordon and Fred – what can we expect?

I don’t want to spoil it, but I’m sure if we’re in Morocco you can expect camels! It’s always amazing being back with the boys. We work hard but the cool thing about GGF is that we play harder! Fantastico!

Is this your first trip to Morocco? Yes! In Morocco you can be in the desert one day, then in the most amazing city of Marrakech the other. The colours, the food, the people, it is really a magical place.

Any plans for more trips for the three of you together?

We’ve just made one in America. We have the times of our lives. Fred cries when it’s time to come home!

Where will you enjoy Christmas? Sardinia, with my wife Jessica and our kids, Luciano, who’s 17, Rocco, who’s 15, and seven-year-old Mia. We love Christmas sunshine!

What’s an Italian Christmas like? It has between 22 to 25 courses! We celebrate on Christmas Eve, when we sit down at 4pm – and we eat until midnight when Santa comes and we open gifts. They’re small courses of antipasti, grilled prawns, mussels, bruschetta…

Is turkey on the menu?

No, who likes it? It’s too dry. For me, Christmas is about seafood, so I’ll bake sea bass in a salt crust. My top tip for turkey is no turkey!

What would you like from Santa? I’d love an original Super Mario Game Boy from 1990!
