ive months after she was shot by Derek Milligan, Shona Platt returns to the cobbles. But don’t expect her and

David to reunite just yet. The former cafe worker, who was left with severe memory loss after spending weeks in a coma, is far from her old self, and still doesn’t recognise the mouthy little fella calling himself her husband.

Shona is so confused that she earlier decides to take a trip from her rehab centre to the prison to see son Clayton; he who murdered David’s first wife, Kylie. David’s devastated when he finds out, and heads off for another adrenaline fix to numb his pain. Approachin­g a group of youths on bikes, he shoves one of them over and stamps on their cycle, then sprints off as they give chase...

when she makes a brew and instinctiv­ely goes to the cupboard above the kettle to get out teabags, Gail’s given a glimmer of hope.

‘A lot of people keep their teabags in a cupboard above the kettle,’ adds Julia, ‘so it might just be a coincidenc­e.’

Everyone’s left panic-stricken, however, when, after wandering out into the garden, Shona disappears. Will the befuddled brunette be found before she comes to any harm?
