Roy invites troubled Shona to move in with him

-

SHONA STILL HAS NO RECOLLECTION OF THE STREET

The road to a David and Shona reunion starts here, and it’s all thanks to Saint Roy of Weatherfield. The kindly cafe owner steps in and offers Shona a place to stay as she continues to struggle with memory loss in the wake of her Christmas shooting.

Shona went AWOL last week during a visit to the Platt house, and it’s her ex-employer who finds her wandering on Victoria Street. He ushers her into Roy’s Rolls, but Shona has no idea who he is.

‘She still has no recollection of the Street, of Roy’s Rolls, of anything,’ says Julia Goulding, who plays her. ‘In her head, she’s still living on the Dog and Gun estate.’

David’s relieved to find his wife in Roy’s company, and, as Shona’s key worker, Alice, takes her patient back to her Leeds rehab centre, David’s struck with an idea. Soon, Roy is asking Shona if she’d like to move in with him and his niece, Nina.

Shona’s interested, and comes back with Alice for a tour of his flat. But Roy’s reminded of the extent of his potential lodger’s problems when the buzzer sounds on his oven and the brunette instinctively reaches inside, burning her hands.

Still, it’s not enough to put him off, and neither does the incident cause Shona to back out. When David and Roy then go to see her at the rehab centre, she tells Roy that she definitely wants to take up his offer.

It’s major progress, but David remains anxious; unsure of what’s to come.

Can he manage to find a way back into Shona’s heart?
