Jamie and Belle’s affair is exposed at The Woolpack’s big event
BELLE WANTS TO CURL UP IN A BALL AND DISAPPEAR
If you want to out an affair in soapland, there’s no place quite like the pub. Not only will your efforts get maximum exposure, but on special occasions there’s usually some handy technology to help with the cause – a microphone, sound system or, in Andrea and Leyla’s case this week, a video screen.
And so the devious duo choose The Woolpack’s quiz night to reveal Jamie’s bonking sessions with Belle. But will Andrea’s bid to blow the pair apart be a success, or will her sly behaviour backfire?
Belle has no idea that Jamie’s missus has rumbled them, and she turns up to the event as part of the vet team. As the evening gets underway, Leyla insists on collecting everyone’s phones, on the pretence of ensuring fair play. Belle duly hands hers over, and Leyla secretly pockets it, along with a USB stick.
Midway through the evening, as the picture-round questions are displayed on a giant screen, the punters have a lot more to think about than World Cup goal scorers or capital cities when a screenshot from Belle’s phone appears, showing her and Jamie’s mucky text messages.
‘A few seconds later, it sinks in what is going on, and they both feel sick,’ says Eden Taylordraper, who plays Belle. ‘Andrea starts crying and screaming, and Belle is left feeling like a really disgusting person.
‘Ellis is there, and feels betrayed. Everyone is giving her and Jamie grief. Charity is in Belle’s corner, but most of the Dingles are at home, so Belle still has to deal with them. She wants to curl up in a ball and disappear.’
Belle’s further devastated when Jamie accuses her of being responsible for the floor show.
‘He knows about her mentalhealth problems,’ adds Eden, ‘and he throws them back in her face, which makes her question the kind of person he is.’
The next day, Jamie has more to stew on when he discovers his wife has gone AWOL, along with their daughter Millie. He’s further panicked when Tracy reveals that she left without her car or purse.
Where has Andrea gone? And will Jamie discover that the exposé was all her doing?
