Whitney makes a move on vile Gray accuses

hitney has been manipulated by most of the men in her life, so she’s in seventh heaven to have met someone whom she believes breaks the mould. Unfortunately, the object of her affections is Gray, who, behind closed doors, is a twisted wife beater.

It’s no wonder Whitney’s fallen for him. Gray’s been fighting her corner with regard to her murder of psycho stalker Leo, and seems a saint in a suit.

‘As far as she’s concerned, Gray has done so much with regards to her trial and when she was in prison, and they’ve got quite close,’ says Shona Mcgarty, who plays Whitney.

Gray’s there for her again when he finds Whit in the Square, haunted and disorientated by memories of Leo’s murder. Swooping in, he takes her back to his place.

They discuss how the prosecution could use Whit’s previous relationships against her. Gray then asks Mick and Linda about his client’s marriage to Lee, and is taken aback when Linda admits their son once hit his young wife.

All the while, Gray continues to exert control over his wife, Chantelle, and isn’t happy when she borrows his car to pick up some computers for Kheerat.

Winstalled a tracking device on the vehicle. When she returns, he seethes to notice she has visited several locations. His hackles rise further when he notices a journey to Stratford. The legal eagle is unaware that it’s down to Ben stealing the motor last week, and he accuses his partner of having an affair.

As Chantelle struggles with her husband’s paranoia, Gray encourages Whitney to piece together what happened on the night of Leo’s death. Whitney breaks down as she gives him a detailed account and, when Gray comforts her, she tries to kiss him.

‘She can’t help but see this man who is so kind and has done so much good,’ adds Shona.
