Bad way: Luke (left) and Mandy help Darren

Nancy is aware of Kyle’s drug problem, but she’s been oblivious to his struggles with mental health that have been driving the addiction. So she’s completely floored when Darren breaks the news that her fiancé has taken his own life.

As word gets round, blame is shifted from one person to the next. In the Osborne house, Brooke struggles to process what has happened, and it’s down to Ollie to try and calm her down. Nancy, meanwhile, is overrun with visitors and, as grief kicks in, she argues with Charlie and smashes his games console.

The tragedy is a wake-up call for Luke, who realises that he responded badly to Darren’s admission of his own depression. As the pair have a heart-to-heart, Luke promises to listen to his friend in the future and try to better understand how he’s feeling. But when Darren then makes a shock confession, Luke realises how bad things are, and drags his pal to the GP, ringing Mandy en route to ask her to meet them there. Will Darren finally get the professional help he needs?

Bad boys: Jordan and Sid

Also this week, Jordan is interested to learn that students from other schools will be attending Hollyoaks High’s environmental fair, and tells Sid and Juliet that they need to use the opportunity to sell more drugs. Will the young pair follow orders? And Liberty suggests to Sienna that it’s about time she got back to work at the school. But can her sister persuade Sally to take her back?
