Cain keeps a vigil at Moira’s bedside

Cain is by her side. They may not be together any more, but he still loves the bones of the fiery farmer.

‘I don’t think Cain could live without Moira,’ says Jeff Hordley, who plays the worried mechanic. ‘Whether they’re in a relationsh­ip or not is not the issue; he just doesn’t want her to die.’

Matty is there, too, and when he heads home after an exhausting day, Cain pretends to do the same, only to secretly stay on the premises so that he can be with his ex throughout the night.

Athen Cain sneaks back into Moira’s room,’ explains Jeff. Back at Butlers Farm, Rhona promises Matty that she will look after the place in his mum’s absence. But when she sees the mountain of orders she has to fulfil, she wonders if she can stay true to her word.

Meanwhile, when Cain later calls by, he catches Rhona discussing her secret partnershi­p with Nate. ‘He’s not happy at all’ adds Jeff,

‘and has a go at her.’

Cain tells the pair that Moira must never find out. But the cat is already out of the bag where Kim is concerned. She’s livid that Nate teamed up with the woman who ‘stole’ Graham from her, and storms round in a huff.

Rhona and Nate explain that their deal with restaurant owner Ricky wasn’t a personal attack on her. But Kim’s seen her backside and vows to bring down Butlers.

Can they find a way to stop her?
