Kush rejects Phil’s deal – but fiancée Whitney is not happy…
Wedding bells are ringing in Walford this week for Kush and Whitney, but with the groom facing a stretch behind bars and the bride having no idea the nuptials are even happening, things seem doomed from the start!
As his plea hearing looms, Kush is reminded by Gray he may be looking at a hefty sentence for his involvement in last year’s bungled heist. Kush was fully prepared to confess all to the cops, until Phil offered the muscly market stall holder a deal – Kush takes responsibility for the crime and keeps the Mitchells out of it, in exchange for Phil paying him off once he’s done the time.
Now Kush is getting cold feet having embarked on a romance with fiancée Whit. Starting their engagement with him banged up is hardly ideal, so Kush tells Phil their deal is off.
Phil fumes, while Whit is confused when Kat collars her about Kush’s arrangement with the Mitchells – it’s the first she’s heard of it! Wild Whit confronts her fella, demanding to know why he didn’t tell her he agreed to Phil’s terms.
Even Kush announcing he’s planning a wedding in a few days’ time doesn’t calm Whit down, so Kush panics and does a runner!
Whitney worries her man has made things worse by disappearing before his court appearance, and she and Martin desperately try to track him down.
Eventually, Kush returns. Can Whit forgive him for keeping his shady deal with Phil a secret, jeopardising their happy-ever-after? And is the rushed wedding on or off?
Finally, it’s Kush’s day in court, and as the time comes for him to answer the question: ‘How do you plead?’ – will he choose love over loot and betray the Mitchells for Whitney? Or will he leave his lady heartbroken as he’s led to a cell?
