Guilty!

Jimmy makes a decision about his court plea

-

here was once a time when the biggest problem Jimmy King faced was finding the energy to keep up with Nicola’s nooky demands. That’s certainly not going to be an issue moving forward, given that this week he decides to plead guilty to causing death by dangerous driving, in the wake of Paul Ashdale’s demise.

The court case isn’t the only thing on Jimmy’s mind. He’s at loggerheads with Juliette, who wants custody of their son, Carl. And then there’s Nico’s betrayal. Jimmy can’t forgive his missus for duping him into selling half of his haulage business to Charity.

Drowning in drama, Jimmy offloads on Mandy, and when she advises him to put Carl first when considering his plea, he gives Juliette a call.

Nicola’s stunned to later find her hubby’s invited the wicked witch of the Dales over for a chat, and gobsmacked when he asks Juliette to take Carl out, in the hope that the little lad, who has become quiet and withdrawn, will open up.

Solicitor Ethan later wants a catch-up about Jimmy’s defence case, and is hopeful that the weather report from the day of the accident will prove his client’s innocence – Jimmy, you’ll recall, was blinded by the sun as he rounded a bend, which ultimately caused the fatal accident.

But Jimmy’s uninterested and, back at home, he tells Nicola of his intention to submit a guilty plea.

‘Jimmy wants to go to prison,’ says Nick Miles, who plays him.

‘This death has brought back memories of the house collapse, which killed Bob’s daughter, Dawn. He doesn’t know that that was Cain’s fault, and he wants to be punished for what he’s done.’

Can anyone convince him to put up a fight?
