The Importance of Being Earnest
Oscar Wilde’s brilliantly witty satire about the romantic adventures of two men-about-town gets top-drawer treatment and a perfect cast. Michael Redgrave and Michael Denison are the suitors, and Dorothy Tutin and Joan Greenwood the girls. But it’s Edith Evans’ dragon of a Lady Bracknell who dominates. Even Margaret Rutherford’s quivering Miss Prism has to take second place. ★★★★ DQ
