Meena RUMBLED!
Ben finds the footage of the deranged nurse trying to kill Victoria…
The ticking time bomb is a soap staple, and in the Dales right now, we’ve got that infamous body cam lying around – it was picked up in the water after the rope-bridge collapse, and it just happens to have captured the moment mad Meena tried to drown Victoria.
No one has yet seen the incriminating footage, which is gathering dust at the HOP. But this week, Ben comes across it, and realises the flirty nurse is a nutjob.
Ben’s not had the best time since arriving in the village, and things have suddenly turned very sour thanks to Jai parking the blame for the disaster at his door.
When he’s turned down for a job in Cornwall due to the outward-bound debacle, he goes to the HOP, determined to find evidence to clear his name.
Liv is there, and the pair have a row that is witnessed by Laurel, who sends her young employee home when Ben reveals she is drinking again.
Ben then breaks into the office, and just as he’s giving up hope of finding anything useful, he spots the body cam. He’s horrified to see the fuzzy film of Meena holding Victoria under the water, and calls Billy to share his discovery.
‘The stuff he finds is very blurred, and he wants a second opinion,’ explains Simon Lennon, who plays Ben. ‘But sadly, he doesn’t manage to get through to him.’
Even worse, Meena is with Billy at the time, and overhears the pair’s conversation.
Back at the HOP, Ben hears a noise and finds Liv, who is trying to steal wine but is smashing more than she’s managing to nick. He orders her home after a heated confrontation, but then Meena arrives, on a mission to prize the body cam out of his hands.
‘When Meena begins to belittle Ben, there’s an acknowledgement that things might take a sour turn,’ adds Simon.
‘They get into a scuffle over the evidence, and luckily Ben gets away. Meena gives chase, but falls in the spilt alcohol left by Liv.’
As Meena lies lifeless, Ben’s not sure what to do. Will he summon help and save her? And if so, will Meena make him her next victim?
