Grieving Toyah sleeps with Spider… unaware that he’s harbouring a secret

-

With her life in free fall, our Toyah decides to do more with ex-boyfriend Spider than drink tea and save the world, and she leads him into her bedroom for some nookie. Not the wisest move, but at least they do the deed on a double divan. Didn’t she lose her virginity to him in a tent?

It’s no wonder she wants some comfort. Just months ago, Toyah had a husband and stepson. Now, she’s on her tod, and facing a life sentence for Imran’s ‘murder’.

Spider’s keen to support her, and Toyah’s reminded what a good egg he is when Leanne invites her to move in with her, and her sis admits Spider told her how lonely she was. Few people have had her back like the eco-warrior has.

As Toyah starts to pack up her polyester skirts and mismatched crockery, Spider’s on hand to help, but she’s thrown when she finds some paperwork for a savings account Imran set up for Alfie before his death, and she orders Spider to leave.

‘It brings everything flooding back,’ says Georgia Taylor, who plays her. ‘Whatever Toyah is or isn’t guilty of, Alfie has been left without a dad and she’s been left without the man and the family unit she dreamt of for so long.’

The following day, Toyah’s shocked to discover that Spider has been arrested during a protest, and she hotfoots it to the nick, where she’s superrelieved to see him escape with a slap on the wrist.

As the pair return to the flat, she kisses him. Spider reciprocates, and doesn’t put up a fight as she leads him to her boudoir.

Georgia adds, ‘It’s probably too soon, but Toyah’s not thinking straight.’

Post-passion, Toyah’s riddled with guilt and opens up to Abi, who urges her fragile neighbour to go easy on herself. Doing just that, Toyah heads to the Rovers with Spider.

She’s happy as he agrees to stay friends, blissfully unaware he’s spinning a web of lies. Taking a furtive call, Spider tells the person on the end of the line that he can’t wait to get back.

Is he leading a double life?
