Samia Longchambon has teamed up with 2019 Love Island contestant Amy Hart to highlight the horror of internet trolling, following her character Maria’s recent storyline that’s seen the hairdresser/councillor subjected to a barrage of online hatred.

The pair filmed a special video for Corrie’s

Youtube channel, revealing their personal experiences and offering advice to anyone dealing with abuse on social media. ‘I hope Maria’s story makes people who’ve left nasty comments think twice about it in the future,’ says Samia, 40.

‘It’s imperative soaps cover trolling and online bullying,’ adds Amy, ‘as it shows the effects to an audience of all ages.’
