Summer Bay is buzzing as the community gathers for Nikau’s bravery award ceremony, not realising the recipient of the prize is a bag of nerves at the thought of being centre of attention. The trainee lifeguard fears he’ll make a fool of himself at the event, and when he shares a charged moment with Naomi, it throws him off track. Panicking, he tells John he can’t go through with it, and he’ll have to accept the award on Nikau’s behalf!
Feeling lost without Bella by his side, and guilty at his growing attraction to Naomi, Nikau’s head is in a spin, and a telling-off from Alf about letting the surf club down by refusing to attend the event doesn’t exactly help.
Naomi offers comfort to Nikau and tries to boost the boy’s spirits by reminding him of his recent achievements, leading to a passionate kiss between the pair! Is this the start of a new romance?
