Drug DRAMA

Amy collapses after taking drugs and it’s Stuart’s fault…

-

Stuart’s spiral into a mental-health meltdown has serious consequences this week, not just for the man himself but also for young Amy, who ends up in hospital after taking illegal drugs he bought.

Struggling to face his demons, stressed Stu chucks away the medication he’s been prescribed for postnatal depression and instead lapses into old habits and finds a drug dealer, hoping a fix will take the edge off his anxiety.

Unable to let himself fall off the wagon, panicking Stuart gives the drugs to Jada, then tries to get a GP appointment – leading to a scary situation at the surgery that forces him to confront his condition.

Later, at Denise’s birthday bash, the drugs fall out of Jada’s purse and Lily ends up stealing them. She and her mates sneak off with the bag of narcotics and Amy, who is keen to show off in front of newcomer Denzel, stupidly swallows half a pill.

Before you can say ‘bad idea’, the teen collapses and is found in the nick of time by dad Jack and stepmum Denise, who swiftly dial 999.

Martin assumes the drugs were Denzel’s, which Lily lets him believe so she doesn’t get in trouble. Later, lying Lily admits she found the pills at the party and gave them to Amy. The trail eventually leads back to Jada, but will she reveal Stuart’s part in the schoolgirl’s brush with death?

Amy thankfully survives and is discharged after a few days, but overprotective Jack bans his daughter from hanging out with Denzel, mistakenly thinking he’s a bad influence. But since when did teenagers do what they were told?
