Millie Gibson has reportedly quit the soap after three years playing troubled teen Kelly Neelan. The 18-year-old star’s departure was revealed by The Sun newspaper, although Coronation Street bosses have not confirmed – or denied – the news.

Kelly has been at the centre of some of Weatherfield’s biggest plots, and still doesn’t know that Gary Windass was responsible for the death of her late loan shark father, Rick; Gary having killed Rick in self-defence in 2019.

Could a dramatic exit for the trainee hairdresser see her discover that late mum Laura didn’t murder Rick – as both Gary and Laura led her to believe – and finally learn the truth about her dad’s grisly demise?
