ALISON’S DILEMMA
Alison thought she’d found love with soldier Captain Carter (Maxim Ays), but she learnt their relationship was built on lies. After Captain Fraser (Frank Blake) helped her through her heartbreak, Alison now realises it is him she truly loves, and she thinks he feels the same way – but will they admit their feelings before Alison returns home to Willingdon?
‘Fraser doesn’t trust that a woman like Alison could really love a man like him,’ says Justin. ‘For a courageous man, he’s not very brave at declaring his true feelings. Alison has grown up across the series, and realised that her naivety and romanticism has tripped her up in a Marianne Dashwood [from Sense and Sensibility] kind of way – she’s realised too late that there’s been this wonderful, decent, heroic man in front of her. We’re rooting for them – and there is at least one happy ending at the end of episode six!’
