THE NEXT SERIES…

What lies ahead for the Sanditon residents?

-

While this week’s episode marks our last visit to Sanditon for this series, the good news is that a third run has already been filmed and will be screened next year. Justin remains tight-lipped about what lies ahead, but he hints that we will be saying goodbye to some familiar faces – and hello to some new ones. ‘Once a character’s story is resolved, it’s better to have them exit at that point than have them hanging around with nothing to do,’ says Justin.

‘But that does mean there’s space for new characters to come in. A new family arrives at the beginning of series three, and Charlotte returns with someone who we meet at the very end of episode six. ‘Series three has a very different feel: series two was summer, and series three is autumn, when the nights are drawing in – it’s got a kind of mature, bittersweet, Persuasion-esque feeling to it that

I hope people are really going to love.’
