Toyah and Spider begin a secret relationship – what is he not telling her?
Decades after he took her virginity in that tent, Spider’s love for Toyah is still burning bright, and this week he lays his heart on the line.
But although he’s being honest about matters of the heart, all those furtive phone calls he makes would suggest that when it comes to other areas of his life, he’s being anything but.
Spider’s declaration comes as Toyah – somewhat adrift following Imran’s death – throws her energies into protesting. Her current mission is to shine a light on Nadeem Atallah, a businessman renowned for his unethical practices who has got into bed (metaphorically speaking) with Carla Barlow.
As a protest gets under way outside Underworld, Nadeem arrives and is taken inside, where Carla explains that their deal is off. Back outside, PC Tinker urges the protesters to disperse, but loose cannon Griff whips up the crowd.
Seeing Carla and Nadeem emerge, he lobs a bottle in their direction, only for it to hit Craigy’s head. The eco-warrior is arrested, and terrified Toyah gets caught up in the melee.
Carla’s unimpressed to later spot Griff chatting to Toyah, and further narked when she finds the soap-dodger sharing a conspiracy theory with Peter. Meanwhile, there’s more agg for our Toyah when Imran’s mum, Saira, pitches up and accuses her of killing the solicitor so that she and Spider could be together. Witnessing the tirade, Griff suggests they teach the woman a lesson.
Spider is quick to warn Toyah that it’s a terrible idea given her murder trial is looming. And when Griff proposes torching
Saira’s car, he urges Toyah to cut ties with the bloke, then admits he’s in love with her…

The smitten pair pucker up and agree to see each other in secret to avoid Saira’s wrath. But rather stupidly, they do all of this on Leanne’s balcony. Surprise, surprise, Saira sees everything.
Will she use her discovery to try to get Toyah sent down? And as the once-fiery Spider shows a more considered side, what is he really up to?
