It’s always a pleasure to revisit this spoof on the original Star Trek series and what actors do with that level of fandom after a show has been cancelled. A great cast includes Tim Allen as the captain, now a louche alcoholic, Alan Rickman as a Spock-esque alien depressed that this is what his classical training has led to, and Sigourney Weaver (to be seen in the first of the Avatar sequels, The Way of Water, out in December) is on the show to display her cleavage and repeat whatever the computer just said. By Grabthar’s Hammer, it’s hilarious but also strangely touching. ★★★★ NP
