The Incredibles

One of Pixar’s finest achievements, this cracking animated adventure sees a family of superheroes deal with the monotony of suburban life with a mysterious new threat to their lives. Craig T Nelson voices Mr Incredible, while Holly Hunter is his wife, Elastigirl, both trying to bring their enhanced-powered kids up properly and have them hide their gifts. It’s a joyous blast of a film, outdoing the likes of most James Bond and Jason Bourne flicks for sheer inventiveness and wit. Director Brad Bird also voices the best character in the movie – clothes designer to the superhero world, Edna Mode. ★★★★★ NP
