Rob and his colleague DI Mick Hartley have a murder to solve following the discovery of the body of Sutton Vale GP Jacob Ashdown. Four suspects are in the frame – Jacob’s widow Steph, his ex-lover Maeve, former Sutton Vale receptionist Rosie and ruthless GP Princess.
Scouring through phone records, Rob and Mick are intrigued to discover that on the night Jacob supposedly went AWOL, mobile network ‘pings’ show him as having returned home. Steph reiterates that she was at the cinema with a friend when the duo pay her a visit, but admits arguing with her husband the following morning about his plan to sell the practice, during which he revealed he’d been having an affair. The plot then thickens when Steph’s cinema alibi retracts their statement, while alarm bells ring further for Rob when he spots a Land Rover and a forklift truck outside. Is Steph the killer?
