I’M GUILTY as charged...

Toyah has a big confession ahead of her trial for Imran’s murder

-

Three months after Imran went to that big courtroom in the sky, it’s time for Toyah to face the music. Her husband died when she crashed their car after discovering he’d lied about baby mama Abi taking drugs so he could get custody of son Alfie. But did she do it on purpose? The answer is a big fat yes, as Toyah admits during a shock conversation with Spider. Question is, will the jury agree?

Toyah’s big confession comes after she spends time with Alfie, who was once so close to becoming her stepson and fulfilling her lifelong dream to be a mum. It’s Abi’s idea – she wants her neighbour to have some special memories of the tot, should the worst happen. ‘Toyah is looking into the eyes of the child of the man she loved, and it just exacerbates her feelings of guilt and responsibility,’ reveals actor Georgia Taylor.

‘She feels she’s taken away this child’s chance to ever know his dad, and that’s a huge cross to bear.’ Returning home, Toyah crumbles and tells Spider that she lied to the police and, in fact, crashed the car on purpose, intending to kill Imran. In a further twist, Leanne walks in and hears everything.

Georgia adds, ‘Spider storms out; he’s like, “You can’t tell me about this,” and then he basically falls off the radar.

‘But Leanne is her No.1 support. The thing is, Toyah didn’t get in the car meaning to kill or hurt Imran – absolutely not – but she had a few seconds where the red mist descended and she lost her mind.’

Arriving in court later, Leanne urges her fragile sis to stay quiet and let her solicitor do the talking. As the trial then gets under way, the prosecution barrister paints Toyah as a murderer, before calling Adam, Kelly and Saira as witnesses – the latter of whom accuses her daughter-in-law of having an affair with Spider behind Imran’s back. Leanne does her best to defend her sibling, but as Toyah’s guilt mounts, she decides she has to take the stand. Will she admit what she did? And if so, does a life sentence in prison await?
