A new batch of contestants take on Cake Week
COOKERY 8PM, C4 ‘I’ve never wanted to be in a tent so bad before!’ says one of the 12 excited new bakers limbering up to impress judges Dame Prue Leith and
Paul Hollywood, but they should be careful what they wish for, as Cake Week proves a baptism of fire for everyone! First, they bake mini sandwich cakes for the deceptively simple Signature. Next, there’s an enticing sponge for the Technical, and then there’s a ‘home bake’ for the Showstopper – as in an actual 3-D replica of their favourite home made out of cake! The contestants are a lovely and lively bunch this year and we’re rooting for every one of them already, but who will be crowned the first Star Baker?
