Mary Berry: Cook & Share
FOOD 8PM, BBC2
Mary is in Bristol this week – the city where she got her first job (for the Electricity Board), where her late son William went to university and where her granddaughter Grace now lives. After cooking a brunch of shakshuka (tomatoes and baked eggs), she heads to the bustling harbourside and meets a lawyer-turned-chef who’s embracing the thriving food scene. Inspired by his Asian flavours, she cooks coconut prawns and courgette ribbons, then pays tribute to Bristol-born artist Banksy by tagging her own street art. She also visits the plaque in the university grounds to remember William, who sadly died in 1989, before cooking one of his favourites, a pear and blueberry cake. ★★★★ JL
