There were shocking scenes in Corrie last week when Stephen Reid pushed Leo Thompkins to his death from the Underworld gantry after Leo discovered he was trying to scam Audrey. But Todd Boyce, who plays the smooth-talking villain, couldn’t be more thrilled by the turn of events.

‘I’m in awe of Connor Mcintyre, who played Pat Phelan, and Brian Capron, who played Richard Hillman,’ says Todd. ‘I’m 61, and it’s great that [producer] Iain Macleod believes in me enough to say, “You can do this.” So I’m beside myself!’

The big question, of course, is, will Stephen kill again? ‘I don’t know…’ muses Todd. ‘But I think he’s capable. It’s like a gambler – the further he’s in, the further he’ll go.’
