Karene Peter, who plays Naomi, has revealed how she didn’t start acting until her late teens, and ended up working in the profession thanks to a pal.

‘I’ve been acting since I was about 18, and fell into it by accident, to be honest,’ says Karene, 31. ‘I was on a gap year before uni, working in retail. I met someone who is now a good friend. I told him I was interested in drama and he told me to come to some acting classes.

‘So I went along, and there was an agency affiliated with the classes. I got signed and fell into it from there. It’s been a long, interesting journey!’
