Is the Doc’s time in Portwenn on the rocks?

Rumours are rife in tonight’s episode about the Doc’s new job in London. The villagers are up in arms. Mrs Tishell (Selina Cadell), for one, has a pricing gun and she’s not afraid to use it. Receptionist Morwenna ( Jessica Ransom) is another who takes the news badly. But it’s Chris Parsons (Vincent Franklin) who is especially furious. He’s gone in to bat for the grumpy doc on numerous occasions and feels betrayed. Chris soon has to sing a different tune, however, when the Doc, Morwenna and Al rescue him and his wife Helen (Martin Clunes’ Manhunt co-star Beth Goddard). It’s an incident that brings a new meaning to ‘wet suit’ in this bittersweet penultimate Portwenn outing. ★★★★ ER
