REKINDLING TRUE LOVE
Following Princess Diana’s death, Prince Charles focused on his two sons, but he described his relationship with divorcée Camilla Parker Bowles as ‘non-negotiable’.
The pair had dated in the early 1970s and resumed their relationship in the 1990s. On 9 April 2005, the couple married in a private civil ceremony at Windsor Guildhall followed by a televised blessing at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
At the reception, Prince Charles thanked his new bride ‘who has stood with me through thick and thin and whose optimism and humour has seen me through’.
