As BBC4 continues its Wednesday-night classic drama slot, this week the spotlight is on the 1975 series How Green Was My Valley, an adaptation of the Richard Llewellyn novel about a mining community in South Wales. The cast includes Sian Phillips, who presents a brief introduction to the series before the first episode, Nerys Hughes and Keith Drinkel. Stanley Baker starred as the father of the Morgan family, in his last British role before he died from cancer, aged just 48, in 1976.
