PRISON DISPUTE
Young Sam is refusing to give up on the idea of visiting his mum Natasha’s killer, gangster Harvey Gaskell. He believes no one is ‘born bad’ and wants to understand what happened in Harv’s life to make him become the criminal he is today.
Explaining to Roy that he’s been reading up on restorative justice – where offender and victim come face-to-face – he asks the café owner to accompany him to prison to see Harv, as Nick has refused. As Roy reports back to Nick, Leanne realises just how important this is to Sam and urges her partner to reconsider, arguing that meeting Harvey face-to-face could give his son the closure he needs. Will Nick agree?
