Chas makes arrangements to grant Faith’s final wish
The Emmerdale storm may have long ceased, but an ill wind is swirling through The Woolpack. Last week, Cain uncovered Al and Chas’ affair, and a showdown between the two men ended with one of them getting shot.
Chas, who had planned to leave the village for a fresh start with her secret lover, is now facing a stark new reality.
As the pint-puller tries to hold things together, she’s not the only one struggling, as Vinny remains in a daze after Liv’s death. His wife has been laid to rest and it’s time for him to collect her ashes, but he’s not ready to accept that she’s gone.
Sympathising with the widower, Chas offers to go with him, for support. As she then checks in with Mandy, she reveals plans for Faith’s ashes. Her fun-loving mum always wanted to go out with a bang, hence her request that they be put into a firework!
Knowing it’s what Faith wants, Chas heads off to a firework factory - let’s hope Faith makes it into a jawdropping rocket rather than a measly Catherine wheel. Returning to the village, she asks Mandy if she should put Vinny in the picture. She hopes it might put a smile on his face, but Mands isn’t sure if anything can cheer him up. It seems Mandy’s spot on, for over at Mill Cottage, Vinny looks utterly bereft as he sits with Chip the dog, staring in apparent disbelief at Liv’s urn. Liv was his soulmate and his future. Where does he go from here?
