NURSE FLORENCE

Black Widow star Florence, currently appearing in cinemas in Don’t Worry Darling opposite Harry Styles, plays Nightingale Nurse Lib Wright, who fears that the committee that engaged her don’t care about Anna’s welfare.

‘Lib is a strong, stubborn woman who knows that she is right in certain aspects, but is unable to tell her truth,’ says Florence. ‘So to me, it was more about biting my own tongue. All the films that I know, that I love doing, are about me getting in there and going in guns blazing – and I couldn’t in this one because ultimately, at that time, it wouldn’t happen.’

Director Sebastián Lelio is full of praise for Florence’s performance.

‘She’s in every scene of the film. We get to see her going through the entire emotional spectrum,’ he says. ‘And because of the situations that her character faces, we get to see layers of what’s underneath the surface of the character. Florence has that depth and range in her interpretation.’
