BRONTËS BEAT

-

For the 19th-century spirit grocery, or pub, where Lib stays in the film, production designer Grant Montgomery converted a cafe in Redcross, County Wicklow, referring to a book on the Great Irish Famine of 1845-49 and another on the architecture and furniture of the period.

As for the O’donnell family home, where much of the watch over Anna takes place, Grant built a house at Sally Gap in County Wicklow.

‘I really loved that location because it was speaking the language of Wuthering Heights, and of the Brontës,’ he says. ‘And there’s an element of that in the novel.’
