Jesse Eisenberg takes on the role of legendary mime artist Marcel Marceau in this biopic about his exploits as a teenage member of the French Resistance during World War Two.

His feats rescuing orphaned Jewish children are worthy of honouring, but this disappointing movie contrives so much heroic derring-do for him that it loses touch with realism. Individual scenes are tense and chilling, but we’re rarely convinced of their veracity.
