James Craven has spoken about his first major storyline on Coronation Street, which has seen his character Aaron Sandford and pregnant girlfriend Summer Spellman agree to sell their baby to a childless couple in order to pay for his alcoholic father to go into rehab.

‘It’s definitely exciting, as it’s not something I’ve experienced in my own life,’ says the cobbles newcomer. ‘It’s sort of a loss-of-control story that just spirals, and I think that’s going to be quite interesting to play.

‘Aaron’s got a lot on his plate, and I don’t know if I would be able to deal with his problems in the same way that he does. He’s definitely a lot more resilient than I would be.’
