Love Island’s Zara Mcdermott questions whether influencers like her have contributed to the recent surge in eating disorders. Since leaving the villa in 2018, Zara’s social media content has been all about healthy eating and exercise, with lots of photos of her recent weight loss. But, as she speaks to several young women with eating disorders who all say social media has contributed to their illness, she begins to question her content. There’s also a wake-up call when she meets Lauren, whose Instagram posts were full of healthy food and gym workouts – until her obsession turned into full-blown anorexia. HD
