Following the success of the Caribbean-set crime drama’s first seasonal special in 2021, DI Neville Parker (Ralf Little) is back on the beat in another festive mystery. And while there might not be any snow on the fictional island of Saint Marie, Neville and his team will still be getting the shivers…

‘This special has a Christmas ghost story feel to it,’ Ralf tells TV Times as he and co-star Shantol Jackson, who plays fan favourite DS Naomi Thomas, take a break from filming in sunsoaked Guadeloupe for an exclusive photo shoot to celebrate our Christmas preview.

‘I think people are going to really like it. It’s not designed to scare the kids, but it’s unsettling, like Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.’

The plot sees Commissioner Selwyn Patterson (Don Warrington) revisit an old investigation when a true-crime podcaster is murdered, while Officer Marlon Pryce (Tahj Miles) finds himself spending a night in a haunted house!

Meanwhile, Neville may have found love after a chance encounter in that most romantic of places – an airport car park!

‘It feels special, being on TV at Christmas,’ smiles Ralf. ‘I’ve been lucky to do it a few times with [BBC sitcom] The Royle Family, and I’m very happy to be doing it all over again!’
