KING GIZZARD AND THE LIZARD WIZARD
Polygondwanaland 8/10
Back in November, the ever prolific King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard released their fourth album of 2017, Polygondwanaland, as a free download, even creating a master version that could be pressed to vinyl, allowing amateurs to create unique DIY versions. This “official” version now comes from Heavenly, and it shows the band at their most proggy, with delightfully dense opener “Crumbling Castle” setting things up for a sequence of delicate, lighter trips such as the spacey echoes of “Loyalty”, before “The Fourth Colour” comes along to close things with a satisfyingly coruscating grumble.
