Moonlight Here SEA LION RECORDINGS 8/10 Exile on mane street: beautiful night-time listening from the soporific Swede
For singer-songwriter linn osterberg, who records her sad, sleepy songs in her gothenberg apartment, atmosphere is everything. on this, her self-released second lP, her work is increasingly diaphanous – there are lofi laments that recall Jessica Pratt and Sibylle Baier, such as “Don’t Blame The Moon” and “Suburban Skies”, but much of this brief, nine-track record is taken up with floating instrumentals such as the gaseous, piano-led “lupines” or the closing, metallic ambience of “Cloak on”. It hardly fights for attention, but on headphones on a dark night, there’s nothing better.
