Late 1966: Family form from the remnants of Midlands band The Farinas July 19, 1968: Release debut album, Music In A Doll’s House, on Reprise. Summer 1968: Write “The Weaver’s Answer” while on the road. It quickly becomes a live favourite. They record the song for a Radio 1 session in September march 1969: Second LP
Family Entertainment is released. It reaches No 6 on the UK chart. The opening track is “The Weaver’s Answer”
Summer 1970: A remixed version of the song appears on the “Strange Band” EP, which reaches No 11 on the UK singles chart. Family perform the song on Top Of The Pops
march 1971: The new version appears on budget compilation Old Songs, New Songs October 13, 1973: Family play their last concert, a homecoming show at Leicester Poly
2013–16: Family reunite, without Whitney. “The Weaver’s Answer” is played as the final encore at each show
