according to gallery owner robert Fraser, Christophe­r Gibbs was the inventor of ‘swinging London’ during the ’60s. the Chelsea antiques dealer, socialite and editor of Men In Vogue’s retail guide was sought out by Mick Jagger as a style mentor of sorts. in 1968, Gibbs introduced the stones to banker Prince rupert Loewenstei­n, who became the band’s longtime business manager. He also designed the set for 1970’s Performanc­e, starring Jagger and James Fox.
