Test Icicles co-founder (1986–2018)

Prior to forming test icicles with rory attwell in 2004, multiinstrumentalist sam Mehran had moved through several musical ventures, including DangerousDude. He and attwell soon recruited Dev Hynes, later known as Lightspeed Champion and Blood Orange, for the post-punk trio’s sole album, For Screening Purposes Only, before test icicles split in 2006. Mehran, who has taken his own life at home in Hollywood, went on to record solo as Matrix Metals and Outer Limits recordings, exploring his love of chillwave. He had recently completed a new solo album.
