UNCUT

WILD, WILD COUNTRY

-

Lovely piece on The Byrds’ McGuinn and Hillman [Uncut, September issue]. I’d have loved it even more if you had mentioned The Beatles’ “Act Naturally” from 1965 and of course what I consider the first country rock albums, from a real rock’n’roller, Rick Nelson’s Bright Lights & Country Music and Country Fever with James Burton, Glen Campbell, Glen D Hardin and Leon Russell. Not forgetting International Submarine Band and The Everly Brothers Sing Great Country Hits. Garry Trevartha, Falmouth, Cornwall You mention some great records here, Garry. You’ll be pleased to know we’re playing The Everly Brothers Sing Great Country Hits right now in the Uncut office. Thanks for writing!
